The event was a reflection of the current phase of my life and the perfect excuse for me to hang out and network with ladies my age. Each day presents us with the opportunity to be both a teacher and a learner, and that was exactly what the event lived up to. When you want something, the universe conspires to help you achieve it. Oftentimes, there are no manuals let alone someone to guide you. Breathing space with Amantle: Finding the courage to hit the refresh button. Amantle has worked in the marketing industry for over six years, following her completing a BA Marketing degree from the AAA School of Advertising. Since her graduation, the Vega School of Branding and Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) alumni has worked in various industries that include digital marketing, telecommunications, aviation and education. Passionate about empowering others, Amantle founded the Creative Collab in 2017 with the vision of bridging the gap between the school curriculum and the social experience of basic education learners in rural areas. One of the tasks that we got assigned was to choose a primary school to visit and complete the task with. Choosing a school in my hometown was inevitable, regardless of the fact that I’m now based in Pretoria. Instead, she encouraged us to slow things down a bit and to make more time for our loved ones. That doesn’t mean that it won’t happen, it just means that it might not happen overnight. Sometimes these moments provide answers to our questions and the clarity that we need.
