Our company is named after Anansi, the cunning and intelligent spider who is one of the most important characters of West African folklore. Tales of Anansi have spread from West Africa to the Caribbean, the United States and beyond with the movement of people of African descent. Anthea is a patron for this charity organisation which provides soup kitchens and empowerment projects in the Western Cape. We have supported old age homes, orphanages and other community groups in need. Every year we organise a one day event for the elderly, which includes a three course lunch and entertainment. We donate furniture, goods and sponsor food at Feed A Child events. Our aim is to put together an interesting programme that addresses these needs on a monthly basis where woman get together to discuss these issues, celebrate and embrace each other and motivate each other with their daily challenges.
