Antoinette is a young and innovative chef who combines a thorough classical understanding of ingredients and techniques with modern trends. Antoinette’s life motto is to share as much knowledge of her culinary passion to all that have a love and interest in food. Being a qualified Chef with a B-Comm degree in Hotel and Tourism Management as well as a teaching degree, it is understandable that she is well sought after, with experience in numerous top notch hotels, restaurants and training institutions. Antoinette made the Jacaranda City her home town after completing her studies at the University of Pretoria, also being a qualified teacher with a Hotel and Tourism background she implemented Tourism as a school subject as well as Hotel and Catering in well-known schools as far away from home as Tzaneen. Since 2001 the leafy suburb of Lyttelton Manor has been called home for Antoinette and her beautiful family of two little girls; Anouk and Jhanke and her ever supporting husband Willie. A small successful restaurant, Café Antoinette’s was also on her bucket list, but her passion, time and main focus became the Cookery School and sharing cooking tips, developing scrumptious recipes and hands-on classes became her forte. It was in 2004 that Chef Antoinette first opened her hands-on cookery school in the picturesque garden suburb of Lyttleton Manor, ideally situated between Pretoria and Johannesburg. Antoinette, a qualified chef with a thorough knowledge of ingredients, flavours and culinary techniques, recognized the need for such a cooking school in Centurion and decided to fill that gap while fulfilling her own lifelong dream. In this way she is also giving the community an out-of-the-ordinary fun learning experience. The cooking courses offered by Antoinette’s Cookery School have been delicately thought out; each class is unique and covers a selection from exotic cooking to themed cooking classes, not only will your kitchen skills be sharpened up, this is a great way for anyone from the interested beginner to the passionate cuisine expert to participate and learn a new skill. Antoinette’s cookery classes are all held in a casual purpose build kitchen, a fully equipped and sociable environment, and can accommodate a maximum of sixteen participants at a time giving you a relaxed, intimate experience during each cooking course. During these hands-on cooking lessons, participants will learn to cook a multiple of delectable recipes under the careful supervision of the Chefs and their assistants.
