Cavalier Abattoir is situated on the farm “Oog van Boekenhoutskloof", just outside of Pretoria and was established during 1998 as a very small, low throughput facility. 1200 Head of small stock are slaughtered on a daily basis and distributed to supermarkets and private butcheries, mainly in the Gauteng area. The Cavalier Group acquired the abattoir during 2002 and over time, high throughput lamb plant, upgraded it to a compact and modern, conforming to the best of standards.

Cavalier Foods Cavalier Foods is an established meat packing plant, situated in Boksburg, Gauteng and has been in business, since The factory was designed to pack various retail and case ready cuts, using the latest packing technology for both fresh beef and lamb. Deliveries are done on a daily basis over almost 2/3’ s of the country, utilizing the company’s own refrigerated fleet. It exists for more than 40 years and deals in all different categories of production animals: goats, sheep, lamb, slaughter cattle and weaner cattle. Cavalier Abattoir Cavalier Abattoir is also situated on Boekenhout Farm, the same address as for Feeders. This is a purpose build, high throughput lamb plant, with a daily capacity of 1200 sheep. Products include lamb and sheep meat, as well as various edible offal products. The close proximity to the Gauteng market serves as a major advantage to this plant, which can deliver fresh meat and on a daily basis to Pretoria and Johannesburg superstores. Cavalier Feeders Cavalier Feeders was purpose build to add the final growth to lamb before entering the meat production chain. It has its own in-house feed factory where rations are mixed according to specific requirements. The Group prides itself in a unique supply chain, with special capabilities to offer a service and product, that cannot be rivalled easily. The company aspires to be the leading & preferred specialized red meat packer in Southern Africa. Established in 1998, the company was historically very much involved in the procurement and slaughtering of small livestock in SA & Namibia and gradually evolved into a leading one-stop meat packing destination. In 2007 the company expanded the plant and established a deboning & cutting facility adjacent to the wholesale in Boksburg, focusing on the further processing of meat with advanced production & packaging technology. In 2009 an additional distribution & dispatch warehouse was erected to ensure effective storage & picking of all orders, destined to be distributed to our broad customer base by our own fleet of refrigerated trucks. Cavalier Foods is a ISO22000 approved facility and selected abattoirs accredited to slaughter for Cavalier Foods are subjected to internationally accredited audits on an annual basis. Excellent product quality and adequate product traceability are ensured by the company’s independent quality assurance programme and standards. Our local customer base includes retailers, supermarket groups, butcheries, caterers, HORECA and foods service markets. A unique range of value added solutions are on offer, including: Case ready retail packing, spiced & marinated products, manufacturing/minced lines, customized & specialized cutting according to specification, lamb & beef primal cuts and whole lamb carcasses.
