Colette Designer Garments from Johannesburg has designed her cocktail wear and Daniele Naude has designed several garments especially for Dzingwa’s trip. With her departure in just a few days time, this South African delegate has not had a moment to rest with much preparation and a hectic schedule to keep pace with. Since the crowning Miss Earth South Africa has travelled across SA, visiting schools and addressing learners across the spectrum, with an environmental message that they will take home with them. Finalists will travel across South East Asia visiting communities, Governors and dignitaries from across the region. International pageants are no longer focussing solely on the appearance and glamour of the finalists. Matapa will be dressed by South African renowned couture designer, Werner Dey who has designed her official evening gown that she will be competing in, Colette Palin Designer Garments from Johannesburg has designed her National Costume, this dress specifically was inspired by the passion that South African’s express when united as a nation. Matapa drives a Prius Hybrid compliments of Imperial Toyota and is flown around the country for greening work by Kulula.com for its Project Green. Additionally her accommodation needs are taken care of by Emperors Palace. The official announcement of the 2007 Miss Earth South Africa Finalists was made at a cheese and wine event proudly hosted by AUDI The Glen. These gorgeous beauties will take part in several environmental and green activities over the next eight weeks, some of which are joint projects with Joburg City Parks, SANParks, Food and Trees for Africa and many other organisations. SA Fusion will produce a world class show for guests and fans as only they know how. Finalists have a full schedule and part of their work will take shape in many upliftment and educational programmes that will uplift and create awareness for aligned green issues and conservation. Barberton has had its fare share of young girls who did well as models or participated in some fashion or model competition. Once again a local born-and-bred in Barberton, astonished her peers as she quite by accident participated in the Cover Girl search and reached the finals with no experience in this area whatsoever. He asked her if she had ever considered a modelling career and if she would allow him to take photographs of her and enter her in the cover girl search. Seven South Africans were assigned to design dresses for the models for this event. Out of all the entries the judges chose 30 out of the first two age groups and 60 out of the last two to go through to the final judging. The pilot project has set the stage for other African countries to join South Africa and Tunisia in their quest to promote African fashion and culture collectively to the rest of the continent and the globe! The first-ever Fashion in Africa event was a joint venture between the Tshwane Municipality (Pretoria, South Africa) and the Tunisian Embassy. The idea of collaboration with Tunisia in a culture-related venture stemmed from President Thabo Mbeki's visit there in 2004 to promote trade and business partnerships between this northernmost African country and South Africa, the southernmost African country, symbolizing the drive towards a united continent.
