We produce a high-grade iron ore that is one of the minerals that society needs to develop and prosper. Iron ore is the key component in steel, the most widely used of all metals. It is used in the construction of buildings and bridges, and manufacturing of vehicles and many household appliances. Our production process consists of: exploration; planning and building; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa exploration is focused on the Northern Cape, close to current operations, where we can leverage off existing infrastructure and experience. Greenfield exploration is done in prospective mineral belts such as west and central Africa. Our geologists and engineers design our mines using virtual mine planning systems. We extract our iron ore from mining the valuable iron ore bodies within our various mining leases. We work collaboratively with a team that supports every aspect of our business. In this way, we mine more safely, efficiently and responsibly while creating sustainable value for all stakeholders. Blending allows us to utilise products from our operations to provide niche specification products to our markets. Products are screened and sized to match customer requirements, and then transported through our outbound logistics chain. As a group, we sell iron ore domestically and internationally. Export customers are in a range of geographical locations around the globe, including China, Japan, India, South Korea and countries in Europe and MENA.
