LifeLine Pretoria has been providing a confidential counselling service to all members of the community who are in need or in crisis for the last 40 years. Trained counsellors who are skilled in the art of listening provide this service. They are committed to giving emotional support either telephonically or by face-to-face Interviews. LifeLine Pretoria strives to improve quality of life by providing emotional well-being and offering courses in self-awareness, communication and life skills. As a community based voluntary organisation, LifeLine involves the community at large and its resources to achieve their objectives. LifeLine has since extended that service by providing face-to-face counselling and unique training courses in communities and the corporate environment. It has been operational in Southern Africa since 1968, with more than 24 centres. Lifeline is non-governmental, non-profit, community based organisation. Lifeline Pretoria has been in operation since 1975 and is recognised as well as well-established and credible service. The Board has appointed a Director who is tasked with the overall management on behalf of the Board. The Chairperson of the Board and the Director meet fortnightly. The organisation is located in City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, which covers inner city, suburban areas, Mamelodi and Soshanguve. Communities throughout Southern Africa embracing emotional wellness, mobilizing for social change and building a collective community heart with caring and courageous responses to their unique challenges. We fulfil our vision by providing counselling free of charge to any member of the community with a view to creating emotional wellness. Seek understanding of the unique dynamics, strengths, and challenges of each community. Stimulate growth for individuals and communities, build action teams and promote volunteerism. Provide accessible and confidential counselling through telephone and face-to-face. Actively develop networks and partnerships with other NGOs, business and Government Departments. Provide HIV/AIDS related counselling, education, awareness, empowerment and other services in support of efforts to combat the spread of the disease and to assist those already infected.
