The Home is an independent non-profit organisation and specialises in 24-hour elderly care for those who are able, frail or suffering from Alzheimer's disease. The Home is well known for its warm and friendly atmosphere and can accommodate about ninety residents. We are already busy preparing for this as it is the Home's major annual fundraiser. We will very much appreciate donations of clothing, household items, furniture, toys, books, etc that you no longer have a purpose for. During the Boer-War there was a desperate need for a haven for elderly. A building fund was established to build this haven and in 1896, the building plans were drawn for four semi-detached cottages. The day after Princess Christian visited the grave of her son, Prince Christian Victor, she laid the foundation stone of the Princess Christian Home Pretoria in support of the elderly in Transvaal. Today, this foundation stone is embedded in the western inner wall of the foyer of the new Home in Muckleneuk. We are already busy preparing for this as it is the Home's major annual Fund Raiser. Our friendly and competent personnel ensure complete peace of mind, while providing the care your relatives deserve. The PCH Bookshop provides a wide range of good quality, second hand books at bargain prices.
