A Revolutionary material made from rice husks, salt and mineral oil that. Owing to its durability and sustainability, completely new designs are possible. The fibre reinforced hybrid material is produced of approx. 18% mineral oil, which makes it both environmentally friendly as well as extremely weather resistant against sun, rain, snow or salt water. At the same time, Resysta requires minimal care and offers the look and feel of wood. Our aim was to develop a weather and water resistant material with the noble look and feel of wood. A material obtained from a renewable resource, resistant to water, sun, wind and cold. A material which does not splinter over time, saves resources and is always of a consistent, high quality. 4.5 million hectares are destroyed each year for timber. They are the green lungs of the earth and when they go the earth dies! Prof. Dr. Karl Stetter from the University of Rosenheim, Germany says in his official evaluation of Resysta, For the named applications, Resysta provides perfect preconditions owing to its exceptional tensile and impact strength, resistance to temperature, humidity, sun and insects and in its generally substantial inert composition. Unlike wood, Resysta does not swell, splinter, grey or fade, is crack-free and is resistant to fungal decay. Products made of Resysta are therefore very durable without requiring special care and maintenance. This material is a real alternative to tropical wood. Futhermore products made of Resysta have an especially beneficial ecobalance and bear positive hygienic properties. The client then has the choice of 4 specially formulated water based surface finishes which are manufactured in Germany. This surface finish is resistant to most stains and can be refreshed if need be. Unlike other WPC’s (Wood Plastic Composite’s) in which the colour is infused into raw material, Resysta is presented in a form that can be treated exactly like wood. Yet it has none of the problems associated with wood, such as bending, warping, splitting, contracting, expanding, splintering, rotting etc. Another truly unique feature of the special surface preparation of the Resysta raw material is that whilst its underlying structure is impervious to water, the surface after sanding will allow a liquid penetration of between 0.2 to 0.5mm. Thus allowing the surface coating to bond onto the Resysta and remain steadfast.
