The Oranjekom Gorge Cottage is a secluded accommodation facility with a breathtaking view. This cottage is absolutely unique as it is located beneath the viewpoint of the spectacular Oranjekom Gorge, offering unrivaled vistas of the Orange River flowing 240m below. Visitors can look forward to a luxurious one bedroom apartment with a fully-equipped self-catering kitchen and separate ablution facilities. There are various viewpoints and decks from which one can marvel at this amazing site. The waterfall is within walking distance from the Rest Camp. Take care not to leave any valuables or food items about as there are baboons present in the camp. Remember to bring a hat, walking shoes, sun block, camera, binoculars and wildlife reference books. As outdoor lighting in camps is limited, a torch/headlamp is required when walking outside at night. Hikers on day and overnight trails must always carry sufficient water. SANParks can cater for all conferencing needs, from arranging the venue, to the logistical arrangements, to organizing tailored pre and post conference activities. Walking to the summit will give one of the best views of the park and its surroundings. Quartz-poor, these igneous rocks seem to form a natural border between the harsh environment of the gorge area and a more fertile area on the other side.
