What you should know about Ssir
WELCOME TO SSIR ONLINE SCHOOL.
SSir was founded by a private school teacher, and the classroom ethos is still living in the hearts of our courses. Join our online community of students all over the country and begin your journey towards success in the subject you choose. Join us in your search for excellence in choice subjects free from traditional and geographical constraints. Simply put, this is the concept of basically connecting any device with an on and off switch to the Internet (and/or to each other). We don’t rely on parents or other people to explain the work to our students. We have created a virtual classroom by making use of videos, text lessons, tasks and assignments, all set up by our teachers who are teaching in classrooms at leading schools. We provide an up to date and relevant curriculum to both independent and government schools, and we strive to make it engaging while still covering all the bases. Mr Arnold Lamont is the headmaster of SSir Online School, as well as the teacher of several of our courses. He taught at schools across Gauteng for 23 years, until he decided to start his own business teaching students elusive subjects like Information Technology. The task, however, is done over a period of days (or even weeks). The completed assessment task is then uploaded to the space provided on our website. Here the teacher will mark it, after which the results will be available to the student on the website. Invigilating teachers are also responsible for extracting or 'unzipping' any support material which might be required in the exam. Exams can be scheduled with some flexibility within the schools' own exam timetable. However, because not all our students write their exams on the same day, an affidavit must be supplied by the school/invigilating person indicating that no copy of the exam paper has left the examination venue and that no copy of the paper is available to the student after he/she has written the paper.
